Salmi – Capitolo 125
Dio protegge i suoi
[1]Canto delle ascensioni.
Chi confida nel Signore è come il monte Sion:
non vacilla, è stabile per sempre.
[2]I monti cingono Gerusalemme:
il Signore è intorno al suo popolo
ora e sempre.
[3]Egli non lascerà pesare lo scettro degli empi
sul possesso dei giusti,
perché i giusti non stendano le mani
a compiere il male.
[4]La tua bontà, Signore, sia con i buoni
e con i retti di cuore.
[5]Quelli che vanno per sentieri tortuosi
il Signore li accomuni alla sorte dei malvagi.

A song of ascents.
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and forevermore.
3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.
4 Lord, do good to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.
5 But those who turn to crooked ways
the Lord will banish with the evildoers.
