Ode al Dio terribile
[1]Al maestro del coro. Su strumenti a corda con cetre. Salmo.
Di Asaf. Canto.
[2]Dio è conosciuto in Giuda,
in Israele è grande il suo nome.
[3]E’ in Gerusalemme la sua dimora,
la sua abitazione, in Sion.
[4]Qui spezzò le saette dell’arco,
lo scudo, la spada, la guerra.
[5]Splendido tu sei, o Potente,
sui monti della preda;
[6]furono spogliati i valorosi,
furono colti dal sonno,
nessun prode ritrovava la sua mano.
[7]Dio di Giacobbe, alla tua minaccia,
si arrestarono carri e cavalli.
[8]Tu sei terribile; chi ti resiste
quando si scatena la tua ira?
[9]Dal cielo fai udire la sentenza:
sbigottita la terra tace
[10]quando Dio si alza per giudicare,
per salvare tutti gli umili della terra.
[11]L’uomo colpito dal tuo furore ti dà gloria,
gli scampati dall’ira ti fanno festa.
[12]Fate voti al Signore vostro Dio e adempiteli,
quanti lo circondano portino doni al Terribile,
[13]a lui che toglie il respiro ai potenti;
è terribile per i re della terra.

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph. A song.
1 God is renowned in Judah;
in Israel his name is great.
2 His tent is in Salem,
his dwelling place in Zion.
3 There he broke the flashing arrows,
the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.[b]
4 You are radiant with light,
more majestic than mountains rich with game.
5 The valiant lie plundered,
they sleep their last sleep;
not one of the warriors
can lift his hands.
6 At your rebuke, God of Jacob,
both horse and chariot lie still.
7 It is you alone who are to be feared.
Who can stand before you when you are angry?
8 From heaven you pronounced judgment,
and the land feared and was quiet—
9 when you, God, rose up to judge,
to save all the afflicted of the land.
10 Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise,
and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.[c]
11 Make vows to the Lord your God and fulfill them;
let all the neighboring lands
bring gifts to the One to be feared.
12 He breaks the spirit of rulers;
he is feared by the kings of the earth.
Commento al filmato: Il salmo 76 è il bollettino della vittoria del Dio d’Israele in Sion, dopo la conquista da parte di Davide e la traslazione dell’arca. – Questo salmo è cantato da due brani di spettacolare bellezza dal Concerto in Si min di Vivaldi, le quattro Ghitarre (Mandolini) e il Violoncello con l’Orchestra, si scatenano in un dialogo impetuoso, entusiasmante, che ci trascina nella appassionata “Ode al Dio terribile” di questo salmo:
7 Dio di Giacobbe, alla tua minaccia, si arrestarono carri e cavalli.
8 Tu sei terribile; chi ti resiste quando si scatena la tua ira?
9 Dal cielo fai udire la sentenza: sbigottita la terra tace
10 quando Dio si alza per giudicare, per salvare tutti gli umili della terra.

Commentary on the video: Psalm 76 is the bulletin of the victory of the God of Israel in Zion, after the conquest by David and the translation of the ark. – This psalm is sung by two pieces of spectacular beauty from Vivaldi’s Concerto in Si min, the four Ghitars (Mandolins) and the Cello with the Orchestra, unleashed in an impetuous, exciting dialogue, which drags us into the passionate “Ode to the Terrible God “of this psalm:
7 God of Jacob, at your threat, chariots and horses stopped.
8 You are terrible; who can resist you when your anger is unleashed?
9 From heaven make the sentence heard: the earth is terrified
