SALMO 19 (18)
LA LEGGE DEL SIGNORE, LUCE E GIOIA PER L’UOMO
Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide.
2 I cieli narrano la gloria di Dio,
l’opera delle sue mani annuncia il firmamento.
3 Il giorno al giorno ne affida il racconto
e la notte alla notte ne trasmette notizia.
4 Senza linguaggio, senza parole,
senza che si oda la loro voce,
5 per tutta la terra si diffonde il loro annuncio
e ai confini del mondo il loro messaggio.
Là pose una tenda per il sole
6 che esce come sposo dalla stanza nuziale:
esulta come un prode che percorre la via.
7 Sorge da un estremo del cielo
e la sua orbita raggiunge l’altro estremo:
nulla si sottrae al suo calore.
La legge del Signore è perfetta,
rinfranca l’anima;
la testimonianza del Signore è stabile,
rende saggio il semplice.
9 I precetti del Signore sono retti,
fanno gioire il cuore;
il comando del Signore è limpido,
illumina gli occhi.
10 Il timore del Signore è puro,
rimane per sempre;
i giudizi del Signore sono fedeli,
sono tutti giusti,
11 più preziosi dell’oro,
di molto oro fino,
più dolci del miele
e di un favo stillante.
12 Anche il tuo servo ne è illuminato,
per chi li osserva è grande il profitto.
13 Le inavvertenze, chi le discerne?
Assolvimi dai peccati nascosti.
14 Anche dall’orgoglio salva il tuo servo
perché su di me non abbia potere;
allora sarò irreprensibile,
sarò puro da grave peccato.
15 Ti siano gradite le parole della mia bocca;
davanti a te i pensieri del mio cuore,
Signore, mia roccia e mio redentore.
Psalm 19[a]
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.
7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
10 They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Commento al filmato: è di una bellezza emozionante l’Allegro del Concerto in Re Magg di Mozart; Le note maestose del Corno annunciano questo stupendo Inno al Sole di Giustizia:
6 Là pose una tenda per il sole
che esce come sposo dalla stanza nuziale,
esulta come prode che percorre la via.
tutto il salmo viene illuminato di una luce abbagliante; le note smaglianti del Corno solista e dell’Orchestra si dipanano in un canto gioioso, spumeggiante, con toni esultanti:
Ti siano gradite le parole della mia bocca; davanti a te i pensieri del mio cuore, Signore, mia roccia e mio redentore.

Commentary on the film: Mozart’s Allegro del Concerto in D Major is of an exciting beauty; The majestic notes of the Horn announce this wonderful Hymn to the Sun of Justice:
6 There he pitched a tent for the sun who comes out of the bridal chamber as a bridegroom, rejoices as a brave who walks the way.
the whole psalm is illuminated with a dazzling light; the dazzling notes of the solo horn and orchestra unfold in a joyful, sparkling song with exultant tones:
