Salmi – Capitolo 9 – 10 1a Parte
Dio abbatte gli empi e salva gli umili
[1]Al maestro del coro. In sordina. Salmo. Di Davide.
[2]Loderò il Signore con tutto il cuore
e annunzierò tutte le tue meraviglie.
[3]Gioisco in te ed esulto,
canto inni al tuo nome, o Altissimo.
[4]Mentre i miei nemici retrocedono,
davanti a te inciampano e periscono,
[5]perché hai sostenuto il mio diritto e la mia causa;
siedi in trono giudice giusto.
[6]Hai minacciato le nazioni, hai sterminato l’empio,
il loro nome hai cancellato in eterno, per sempre.
[7]Per sempre sono abbattute le fortezze del nemico,
è scomparso il ricordo delle città che hai distrutte.
[8]Ma il Signore sta assiso in eterno;
erige per il giudizio il suo trono:
[9]giudicherà il mondo con giustizia,
con rettitudine deciderà le cause dei popoli.
[10]Il Signore sarà un riparo per l’oppresso,
in tempo di angoscia un rifugio sicuro.
[11]Confidino in te quanti conoscono il tuo nome,
perché non abbandoni chi ti cerca, Signore.
[12]Cantate inni al Signore, che abita in Sion,
narrate tra i popoli le sue opere.
[13]Vindice del sangue, egli ricorda,
non dimentica il grido degli afflitti.
[14]Abbi pietà di me, Signore,
vedi la mia miseria, opera dei miei nemici,
tu che mi strappi dalle soglie della morte,
[15]perché possa annunziare le tue lodi,
esultare per la tua salvezza
alle porte della città di Sion.
[16]Sprofondano i popoli nella fossa che hanno scavata,
nella rete che hanno teso si impiglia il loro piede.
[17]Il Signore si è manifestato, ha fatto giustizia;
l’empio è caduto nella rete, opera delle sue mani.
[18]Tornino gli empi negli inferi,
tutti i popoli che dimenticano Dio.
[19]Perché il povero non sarà dimenticato,
la speranza degli afflitti non resterà delusa.
[20]Sorgi, Signore, non prevalga l’uomo:
davanti a te siano giudicate le genti.
[21]Riempile di spavento, Signore,
sappiano le genti che sono mortali.

1 I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
3 My enemies turn back;
they stumble and perish before you.
4 For you have upheld my right and my cause,
sitting enthroned as the righteous judge.
5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;
you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
6 Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies,
you have uprooted their cities;
even the memory of them has perished.
7 The Lord reigns forever;
he has established his throne for judgment.
8 He rules the world in righteousness
and judges the peoples with equity.
9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
11 Sing the praises of the Lord, enthroned in Zion;
proclaim among the nations what he has done.
12 For he who avenges blood remembers;
he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted.
13 Lord, see how my enemies persecute me!
Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may declare your praises
in the gates of Daughter Zion,
and there rejoice in your salvation.
15 The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug;
their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.
16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice;
the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.c]
17 The wicked go down to the realm of the dead,
all the nations that forget God.
18 But God will never forget the needy;
the hope of the afflicted will never perish.
19 Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph;
let the nations be judged in your presence.
20 Strike them with terror, Lord;
let the nations know they are only mortal.
Commento al filmato: Le musiche e le immagini che “cantano” questo stupendo salmo, ci introducono nella contemplazione dell’Amore del Signore ci infondono fiducia del Suo aiuto ed esultanza per le meraviglie da Lui operate; sino al versetto 13, il “Largo” e “Allegro molto” del Concerto “Per la Solennità Di S. Lorenzo” di Vivaldi, cantano con armonie di affascinante bellezza:

Dal versetto 14, è l’Allegro in Do Magg. di spettacolare bellezza, dal Concerto di Vivaldi, che cantano alla Misericordia del Signore sino agli ultimi emozionanti versetti illustrati dalla spettacolare immagine del “Cristo risorto” di Piero della Francesca:
[20]Sorgi, Signore, non prevalga l’uomo:
davanti a te siano giudicate le genti.
[21]Riempile di spavento, Signore,
sappiano le genti che sono mortali.

Commentary on the video: The music and images that “sing” this stupendous psalm, introduce us to the contemplation of the Lord’s love, infuse us with confidence in His help and exultation for the wonders he works; up to verse 13, the “Largo” and “Allegro molto” of the Concerto “For the Solemnity of San Lorenzo” by Vivaldi, sing with harmonies of fascinating beauty:
[2] I will praise the Lord with all my heart and I will announce all your wonders. [3] I rejoice in you and rejoice, I sing hymns to your name, O Most High. [4] As my enemies retreat, before you they stumble and perish, [5] because you supported my right and my cause; sit on the throne just judge.
From verse 14, it is the Allegro in C Major of spectacular beauty, from the Vivaldi Concerto, which they sing to the Mercy of the Lord up to the last moving verses illustrated by the spectacular image of the “Risen Christ” by Piero della Francesca:
