Salmi – Capitolo 97
Il Signore trionfa
[1]Il Signore regna, esulti la terra,
gioiscano le isole tutte.
[2]Nubi e tenebre lo avvolgono,
giustizia e diritto sono la base del suo trono.
[3]Davanti a lui cammina il fuoco
e brucia tutt’intorno i suoi nemici.
[4]Le sue folgori rischiarano il mondo:
vede e sussulta la terra.
[5]I monti fondono come cera davanti al Signore,
davanti al Signore di tutta la terra.
[6]I cieli annunziano la sua giustizia
e tutti i popoli contemplano la sua gloria.
[7]Siano confusi tutti gli adoratori di statue
e chi si gloria dei propri idoli.
Si prostrino a lui tutti gli dei!
[8]Ascolta Sion e ne gioisce,
esultano le città di Giuda
per i tuoi giudizi, Signore.
[9]Perché tu sei, Signore,
l’Altissimo su tutta la terra,
tu sei eccelso sopra tutti gli dei.
[10]Odiate il male, voi che amate il Signore:
lui che custodisce la vita dei suoi fedeli
li strapperà dalle mani degli empi.
[11]Una luce si è levata per il giusto,
gioia per i retti di cuore.
[12]Rallegratevi, giusti, nel Signore,
rendete grazie al suo santo nome.
Psalm 97
1 The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad;
let the distant shores rejoice.
2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Fire goes before him
and consumes his foes on every side.
4 His lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all peoples see his glory.
7 All who worship images are put to shame,
those who boast in idols—
worship him, all you gods!
8 Zion hears and rejoices
and the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments, Lord.
9 For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.
10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light shines[a] on the righteous
and joy on the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous,
and praise his holy name.
Commento al filmato: questo drammatico “Allegro non molto” del Concerto di Vivaldi, con gli accordi ritmati dell’Orchestra e con il canto impetuoso del Violino, descrivono in modo mirabile la Gloria di Dio:
«Il Signore regna, il Dio di tutta la terra.»
