Dio, re giusto e santo
[1]Il Signore regna, tremino i popoli;
siede sui cherubini, si scuota la terra.
[2]Grande è il Signore in Sion,
eccelso sopra tutti i popoli.
[3]Lodino il tuo nome grande e terribile,
perché è santo.
[4]Re potente che ami la giustizia,
tu hai stabilito ciò che è retto,
diritto e giustizia tu eserciti in Giacobbe.
[5]Esaltate il Signore nostro Dio,
prostratevi allo sgabello dei suoi piedi,
perché è santo.
[6]Mosè e Aronne tra i suoi sacerdoti,
Samuele tra quanti invocano il suo nome:
invocavano il Signore ed egli rispondeva.
[7]Parlava loro da una colonna di nubi:
obbedivano ai suoi comandi
e alla legge che aveva loro dato.
[8]Signore, Dio nostro, tu li esaudivi,
eri per loro un Dio paziente,
pur castigando i loro peccati.
[9]Esaltate il Signore nostro Dio,
prostratevi davanti al suo monte santo,
perché santo è il Signore, nostro Dio.
Psalm 99
1 The Lord reigns,
let the nations tremble;
he sits enthroned between the cherubim,
let the earth shake.
2 Great is the Lord in Zion;
he is exalted over all the nations.
3 Let them praise your great and awesome name—
he is holy.
4 The King is mighty, he loves justice—
you have established equity;
in Jacob you have done
what is just and right.
5 Exalt the Lord our God
and worship at his footstool;
he is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
Samuel was among those who called on his name;
they called on the Lord
and he answered them.
7 He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud;
they kept his statutes and the decrees he gave them.
8 Lord our God,
you answered them;
you were to Israel a forgiving God,
though you punished their misdeeds.a]
9 Exalt the Lord our God
and worship at his holy mountain,
for the Lord our God is holy.
Commento al filmato: questo salmo è uno straordinario Inno alla Gloria di Dio, alla Sua pazienza verso il Suo popolo riottoso, alla Sua Santità, alla Sua Onnipotenza; lo spettacolare, gioioso “Allegro” dal “Divertimento” in Mib Magg. di Mozart, con un affascinante dialogo dei Fiati con l’Orchestra, ne fa un canto di grande impatto emotivo:

Commentary on the film:
this psalm is an extraordinary hymn to the Glory of God, to His patience with His rebellious people, to His Holiness, to His Omnipotence; the spectacular, joyful “Allegro” from Mozart’s “Divertimento” in Eb Major, with a fascinating dialogue between the Winds with the Orchestra, makes it a song of great emotional impact:
8] Lord our God, you answered them, you were a patient God to them, while punishing their sins. [9] Exalt the Lord our God, bow down before his holy mountain, for holy is the Lord our God.
